Wow! We're already
at the home stretch. May will bring an end to this school year meaning an end
of our weekly meetings and the graduation of our 2nd-year students. This last
month has been crazy and God has been active so let's take a look at all that happened
in April:
- In April, I focused the majority of our teaching times discussing specific ministry scenarios as well as practical steps when first taking a church Pastorate role.
- This month we were blessed to have a Missionary to the Middle East speak to our students about Missions and share his story.
- We also hosted three Lead Pastors - Kevin Reich (Salem), Kelly Dufour (Albany) and Joe Pearson (Monmouth) as they answered questions given by our students asked from a staff pastor's perspective to a Lead Pastor
- Our team of students and leaders helped serve at two events in April…
- Amplify Fine Arts Conference where hundreds of teens from all over come to Discover, Develop and Deploy their giftings be it singing, acting, photography, speaking, playing an instrument, graphic design, comedy and a whole host of over talents. The focus of the event being on how to encourage students to use these gifts in new and creative ways to bring glory to God and further His Kingdom.
- Next was the Oregon District Summit. This is our yearly conference for any and all AG ministers and missionaries around the state. It was a great time of refreshing, connecting with fellow friends and Pastors, and of course the annual Business Meeting for the district.
- These events were great opportunities to pour into hundreds of teens and Pastors from all over our state and our students did an AMAZING job serving at them!
Updates:
- Each of the 1st-year students are transitioning into their Summer Internships.
- Our Oregon Youth Alive team is prepping for a large change; US Missionary Wes Sheley, will be stepping into an Associate Pastor role at Pendleton First Assembly of God. Therefore, we are in the process of restructuring all of Youth Alive in Oregon.
- Lastly, I'm thrilled to announce that our two 2nd-year students have accepted Pastoral jobs!
- Aiyanna Donaldson has accepted the Youth Pastor position at Thrive Church in Klamath Falls, OR!
- Amanda Kidd will be returning to her hometown as the Children's Pastor at Valley Christian Center in Milton-Freewater, OR!
- These amazing young women are finishing up the school year and then looking to move over the Summer.
God is moving all
over Oregon and in churches big and small! It's super exciting to be a part of
what God's doing in the Oregon Ministry Network, in our churches and in the
lives of our OYAMA students! I ask that you'd continue to keep our students
(current and former) in your prayers. I also ask that you'd consider praying
about whether the Lord would move you to give financially to Oregon Youth
Alive. We believe God is calling more people to join the team and invest in the
future of Oregon churches and communities. You can go to https://giving.ag.org and enter Ministry
Code: 282345 to help support the ministry for any amount.
Please ask the Lord
what He would have you do; if you want, you can always message me and we can
discuss more about what God's been up to and you can check us out at https://oregonyouthalive.wixsite.com/programs/oyama
