In July, we were busy getting ready for the new year. Some of the activities included:
- Students continuing their Summer internships at Neighborhood Church in Albany. They served amazingly well at multiple Youth Summer Camps!
- Finalizing 2nd-year student's internships by meeting with other Lead and Youth Pastors
- Coordinating plans for the 1st-year student's Job Shadow at Hope Church in Albany
- Continued one-on-one coaching with our current students
- Preparing the Takena house (our girl's home) for the two incoming young ladies
- I finished up prepping our teaching curriculum, schedule and assignments through December
On a personal note some exciting things happened for Brittany and I:
- I had the opportunity to meet with a couple of Missionaries and discuss how OYAMA can further develop our Missional training for people interested in the Mission field.
- Brittany has had a couple exciting opportunities develop that could see her teaching as an adjunct professor for a couple of Bible Colleges.
- Lastly, God has been faithful in providing opportunities to share about OYAMA and has continually provided just what we need for us to continue to serve as US Youth Alive Missionary Associates. We still have a long ways to go to be funded but we're believing God to continue to be faithful.
I can't tell you how excited I am for the school year to officially begin and to get back to weekly meetings with our students! This looks to be the best year of the program yet and we're so thankful to God, to all of our prayer & financial supporters and to Youth Alive for allowing us to provide this ministry to our Oregon churches and to these amazing young men and women!
As always you can join the team as a prayer partner and/or as a financial supporter at https://giving.ag.org/ type in 282345 as the ministry code. We'd love to have you as part of the team!
