October in OYAMA

Hello to all!

Looking back at October, we are so grateful for such an amazing month filled with many God moments! Before getting into all of the many opportunities we had at Oregon Youth Alive, I want to begin by saying thank you. I know it's become cliche to say, but the truth is we desperately need your prayers and support and I can't say it enough, thank you!

  • Thank you for praying for both Brittany and I; Please continue to pray that the Lord provides for our finances so we can keep ministering as He's called us to. Pray as well as that He continues to lead us by the Holy Spirit and that we would be sensitive to hear and act. Pray that He gives us dreams for the future of OYAMA, pray that He gives us wisdom when teaching, leading and coaching our ministry students.
  • Please pray for our eight current students. Pray for the ones who are married, one married and with children, another who's engaged and all who are obediently seeking the fulfillment of God's call on their lives. Please pray for their families, their finances and their ministries as they're all serving in in various capacities.
  • Lastly, US Missionary, Tom Bachman would appreciate all of your prayers as he heads all of Oregon Youth Alive and oversees the many, many ministries impacting thousands of students all over the state. Pray for rest, guidance and joy as he continues to serve all of the churches in Oregon.

As always, October is one of the busiest months as our students learn how to balance their busy schedule of work and ministry internships as well as serve at multiple events for our district...
Here's an update of everything we did in October:
  • This month we served at the Oregon Youth Convention where hundreds of teens and leaders come and encounter great speakers and worship. It's always fun to see how God shows up and makes himself known to teens from all over with different backstories and struggles.
  • Later in the month we served at our Oregon Network Intermission. This is a conference held in Redmond, for Oregon Pastors and leaders as a time to relax. For our students, it's a time to serve and connect with other ministers. Every year, the Lord reminds me what an amazing network of men and women who love God and love people we are blessed to be a part of.
  • Wednesday teachings included everything from learning proper handling of finances to time management to taking personality, love and communication assessments to learn how to best minister to others. We were also privileged to have former students Sean and Linsey Conlogue, graduates from the first ever class of OYAMA students share with our current students.
  • Lastly, the six 2nd-Year students began their credentialing process. They are now right in the middle of testing for their Assemblies of God Certificate!

As we look forward to the Holiday season and the craziness of life and ministry continues would you pray about being a part of what God's doing through Youth Alive?
